Green Bay Packaging, Inc. (GBP) is seeking a Buyer to assist with performing and maintaining the routine daily functions of the procurement department. The Buyer will respond to requests for products and services from different departments including Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Finance. This individual will also partner with key internal customers to ensure business needs are met in a timely manner. This position will report to the Financial Controller.
• Prepare, issue, and analyze RFx’s
• Negotiate contracts; prepare and issue purchase orders
• Procure emergency products and services
• Expedite products/services to meet internal customer timelines
• Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships in a professional and responsible manner
• Resolve internal customer and supplier disputes
• Reconcile receiving and invoice discrepancies
• Report on delivery status and order backlogs
• Participating in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and Purchasing meetings
• Participate/lead meetings with vendors and internal stakeholders
• Develop cost savings plans
• Monitor and report on supply or market issues that present opportunities or risks to GBP
• Assist with other procurement initiatives as required
• Minimum 1-3 years of MRO and services operational sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor’s degree in a supply chain, business, or technical related field
• Hands-on experience with CMMS and storeroom management systems
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite of products, especially Excel and Word. Experience with Power BI is a plus
• Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced and lean environment
