THE ROLE:

Reporting directly to the COO, the Corporate Director of Sales (CDOS) is an integral member of the Leadership Team as an expert and thought partner in creating and implementing sales strategies,  maximizing revenues, and directing and supporting the sales team for our growing portfolio of hotels. Additionally, the CDOS will develop short- and long-term marketing campaigns to ensure overall market awareness of Virtelle Hospitality.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

 

Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and lead comprehensive sales strategies grounded in market analysis, segment demand, and evolving revenue opportunities.
  • Create SMART goals and targeted sales action plans aligned with property forecasts and company revenue goals.
  • Oversee and grow a multi-property sales infrastructure , including both on-property and remote sales teams, with a focus on scalability as the portfolio expands.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting ensuring accurate reporting and data-driven strategic decisions.
  • Identify portfolio weaknesses and market opportunities; direct team efforts to secure high-value business in response to demand trends.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the COO and company leadership on long-term growth, scalability, and market positioning.

 

Sales Team Leadership & Development

  • Guide and support an experienced sales team, providing autonomy while offering strategic direction, mentoring, and leadership .
  • Create an environment of trust, collaboration, and accountability across the sales team, general managers, and operational leaders.
  • Direct day-to-day sales activities and establish performance and development goals for team members.
  • Facilitate cross-department sales training , empowering front-line teams (including front desk and operations) to recognize and pursue lead opportunities.
  • Hire, onboard, train, and coach sales team members in selling techniques, operational execution, and management philosophy.
  • Create and monitor team goals and bonus structures ; provide timely, constructive performance feedback.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Community Engagement

  • Partner with revenue management to bridge gaps between sales and operations , fostering collaboration and maximizing lead generation and conversion.
  • Collaborate with hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with premier partners and major accounts.
  • Represent Virtelle Hospitality at industry events, Chamber/CVB functions, and community initiatives.
  • Travel to promote sales and build relationships, working with key leaders and representatives of local and regional groups.

 

Marketing & Business Development

  • Identify local, regional, and statewide associations, trade groups, and networking events to generate sales opportunities.
  • Lead the creation and execution of new marketing initiatives with scalability in mind, including the phased development of a digital strategy and social media as portfolio and resources allow.
  • Oversee sales blitzes and client events designed to showcase the hotel portfolio.
  • Ensure timely participation, completion, and follow-up of all RFP requests and processes.
  • Ensure brand-required sales standards are met and maintained.
  • Expertise in sales system management (Amadeus/Delphi) and online reputation management.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of experience in hospitality sales leadership with direct supervision over a sales team, preferably across limited service, full service, and upscale properties.Proven ability to lead autonomous, collaborative sales teams and drive measurable revenue outcomes.
  • Strong expertise in market analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and SMART goal development .
  • Deep understanding of revenue management principles and operational alignment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of local business trends and ability to represent the portfolio at industry events.
  • Experience with wedding sales and catering preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Amadeus and brand PMS systems preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, both independently and in collaboration with a team.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and occasionally work long hours or weekends as needed.

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • Long hours and weekend hours may be required
