Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start to finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with the customers we serve. At Floor & Decor Designers are responsible for meeting with customers, listening to their project needs, educating them on all that is required for their project, and building a creative design concept that incorporates the customers personal style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Eligibility Requirements include a minimum of One (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience, Degree in Design is a plus, Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus, Proficient in basic mathematical skills, Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite, and Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position. Essential Functions include greeting store customers in a helpful manner and supporting store design walk-in needs, scheduling design appointments for existing and potential customers, providing tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects, designing and selling complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions, managing multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up including consistent and concise communication to customers and others, collaborating, partnering and communicating with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, enthusiastically supporting all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees, engaging in current and emerging design trends in your market, responsible for understanding and utilizing design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject, and performing other duties as assigned. Working conditions include limited travel by car, frequent exposure to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles with moderate to noisy noise levels. Physical/Sensory Requirements include medium work with ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel, occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
