Job Description: As a Land Intern at Chevron, you’ll support cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, and Operations by helping drive informed, strategic decisions. Your responsibilities may include: Negotiating with industry partners and landowners, and drafting agreements related to oil and gas exploration and production. Conducting title research to support exploration, asset development, optimization, and asset retirement activities. Supporting multidisciplinary teams on land ownership and agreement issues. Engaging with federal and state agencies on regulatory matters. Managing surface land issues such as access, water use, and fencing. Qualifications: We are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following attributes: Strong communication skills: Can clearly and effectively convey ideas both verbally and in writing. Commitment to learning and feedback: Proactively engage with land professionals to quickly build a strong understanding of the land organization’s role and impact on oil and gas development. Ideal candidates are curious, self-motivated, eager to learn and actively seek out opportunities rather than waiting for direction. Team-oriented mindset: Collaborate effectively within team settings and contribute to cross-functional initiatives to address business challenges. Contract interpretation, drafting, and problem solving: Review third-party contracts to ensure they align with company standards, and draft agreements that effectively support business objectives while remaining acceptable to external stakeholders. Analyze complex title opinions and chain-of-title documents to determine appropriate next steps.
