Job Description LEGAL ASSISTANT – San Diego Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP’s San Diego office has an opening available for a Legal Assistant with a minimum of 7 yrs. of experience. This position is full-time, non-exempt, and is a hybrid position (is eligible to work from home one day a week after 90-days), with hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Requirements: This position requires solid knowledge of federal and state court filing rules and procedures with a strong litigation background that includes e-filing, preparing tables of contents and authorities, preparing discovery shells, and being very familiar with the litigation life cycle of a case. Experience with Healthcare, Insurance Litigation and Coverage, and Business Litigation is a plus. Must have excellent proofreading and writing skills, and great attention to detail. High client interaction and communication skills are essential. Excellent follow-up, initiative, organizational skills, and calendaring abilities are required. Exceptional typing, formatting, editing, redlining, and computer software skills are needed, with specific knowledge of Word 2010 or higher, Outlook, and iManage or similar document management systems. Knowledge of CompuLaw, Best Authority, Adobe Pro, Comparite, and CCC Macros is a plus. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, proactive, have a positive attitude, possess great communication skills, and be a true team player.
