The Extrahepatic siRNA Targeting group is looking for a highly motivated and talented cell biologist with strong expertise in cell biology and functional genomics. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of cell surface receptor biology, endocytosis, and recycling to the cell surface. You will be responsible for investigating mechanistic aspects of in vivo siRNA delivery by cell surface receptors and their cognate ligands.

The Extrahepatic siRNA Targeting group is seeking a motivated cell biologist skilled in cell biology and functional genomics. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of cell surface receptor biology, endocytosis, and recycling. Responsibilities include investigating in vivo siRNA delivery mechanisms involving cell surface receptors and ligands.

About the Role:

Internal Job Title: Principal Scientist II

Position location: San Diego, CA, onsite

The candidate will focus on receptor biology, endocytosis, and recycling to understand siRNA delivery mechanisms.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Extensive experience in cell surface receptor biology, especially receptor endocytosis and recycling
  • Leadership or managerial experience
  • Experience with drug discovery is a plus
  • Lead research on mechanistic understanding of siRNA delivery via cell surface receptors
  • Stay current with assay technology advancements
  • Collaborate across teams and with external partners
  • Review and interpret technical data accurately
  • Present scientific findings
  • Maintain safety and quality standards in the lab
  • Perform other related duties as needed

Minimum requirements:

  • PhD in cell biology or related field, with 5+ years of relevant industry or academic experience
  • Knowledge of mammalian receptor biology
  • Experience with cell biology techniques like immunofluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and adapt quickly
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Publication and presentation record preferred
