Job Description

Senior Frontend Software Engineer (Remote - US or Canada)

Location: 100% Remote - based in US or Canada

Duration: 6-month contract

We are partnering with an innovative tech organization dedicated to building accessible, open-source tools used by millions across the globe. They are currently looking to bring on a Senior Frontend Engineer to join a fully remote team focused on delivering a high-quality web experience across desktop platforms. This is a great opportunity for engineers who are passionate about performance, clean design, and the open web.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the user interface and user experience of a well-known web browser. You'll work closely with fellow developers and designers to implement new features, drive performance improvements, and uphold code quality standards across a large and mature codebase. Your work will directly impact millions of users around the world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop intuitive and accessible front-end components with a focus on usability
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to prototype and deliver features
  • Contribute to a broad codebase and support cross-platform development (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor teammates, and advocate for engineering best practices
  • Address complex technical challenges related to performance, security, and scalability
  • Participate in discussions to shape strategy and identify engineering improvements
What We're Looking For:
  • 4+ years of experience in a front-end or full-stack engineering role
  • Strong proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (minimum 3 years)
  • Track record of shipping quality user-facing software
  • Comfortable working in a distributed team setting and engaging in both synchronous and asynchronous collaboration
  • Open to sharing feedback, asking thoughtful questions, and offering ideas for improvement
  • A team-first mindset and commitment to building inclusive, respectful working environments
