Salary: $16.00-$18.00/hour

Express Employment Professionals Dayton South is now hiring for Steel Production Workers, located in Moraine and Springboro, OH for $16.00-$18.00/hour!

1st Shift- 6:00am-4:00pm Monday-Thursday (Springboro)

2nd Shift- 4:00pm-2:00am Monday-Thursday (Moraine)

**Good attendance is important in this role. Resumes with inconsistent work history or frequent job movement (several jobs in less than a year or short periods at several jobs) will not be considered).

Primary Responsibilities :

• Follows company related Safety Rules and Policies.
• Process hot roll steel into cold drawn steel bars in any number of required dimensions and lengths.
• Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane safely.
• Responsible for the safe operation of overhead crane, straightener, feed table and conveyor, eddy current tester and demag unit, exit conveyor, and exit table.
• Use and read a calibrated micrometer to verify the final cold drawn and straightened bar diameter out of the straightener.
• Responsible for maintaining housekeeping in the work area.
• Responsible for removing and placing discarded metal into the scrap reclamation bins for recycling.
• Responsible for rejecting nonconforming material.
• Responsible for checking the production schedule for proper bundle weights and packaging requirements.

Qualifications :

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Consistent Work History is a MUST.
• Must be able to use a micrometer, caliper, tape measure, and do simple math.
• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must have 1 year or MORE in a manufacturing environment **(steel industry preferred ).
• Must be able to work in either plant Moraine or Springboro based on business needs.
• Must have reliable transportation to either location.

Physical Requirements :

• Must be able to work with coiled steel or rolled bars continuously as needed.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Must be able to stand for up to 8-10 hours continuously.
• Must be able to operate/withstand seasonal hot and cold temperatures.
• Must be able to work with oil, lubricants, and other liquids.
• Must be able to push, pull, walk, stand, climb, kneel, and bend as needed.
• Must be able to wear protective hearing, safety glasses, and steel toe safety boots/shoes.
