We are currently looking for a Full Time Student Resource Advocate to join our Public School Programs team located at the Ardmore Education Resources working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.
Summary:
This position in the Department of Education is responsible for delivery of efforts to connect public school aged students with resources and support necessary for academic success. Responsibilities include collaboration with public school administrators, students and families served by the Chickasaw Nation Truancy Court.

- Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.
- Serves as direct resource to local education agencies within the Chickasaw Nation tribal boundaries
- Works closely with the Chickasaw Nation Truancy Diversion Court and its representatives to ensure cases referred for intervention and diversion efforts are effectively managed
- Engages with and coordinates opportunities for collaboration amongst administrators, students and families in local education agencies to provide resources and support
- Reports to the manager on a routine basis progress in addressing cases assigned for intervention and diversion
- Participates in the Chickasaw Nation Truancy Diversion Court docket to provide insight and information regarding cases referred for intervention and diversion efforts that may result in release from truancy diversion court toward criminal prosecution
- Maintains effective communication and working relationships within the Chickasaw Nation, other First American tribes and state and national education resources
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with local education agencies and community resources supporting the needs of school aged students and families
- Data maintenance and reporting for all assigned responsibilities
- Ensures records are maintained in a confidential manner mindful of federal, state and tribal laws and regulations associated with education records
- Maintains current knowledge regarding laws and regulations associated with attendance, chronic absenteeism and truancy as it relates to public school aged students
- Identifies concerns and recommends referrals necessary for the intervention of Indian Child Welfare as needed
- Prepares ad hoc reports
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Conducts in person parent conferences and meets with school administrators and staff
